School Lunches and Menus
At St Wilfrid’s Catholic Academy, we believe that healthy, balanced meals play an important part in helping children learn, grow and thrive.
Our school lunches provide children with a variety of tasty, nutritious meals to help keep them energised and ready for learning throughout the school day. We aim to offer a choice of meals that cater for different tastes and encourage children to develop healthy eating habits.
School Menus
Our school menu provides a range of meal options for pupils. Please see the current menu below to find out what is being served each day.
We encourage parents and carers to look at the menu with their child so they know what to expect at lunchtime.
We promote healthy eating throughout our school and encourage children to make balanced food choices. Lunchtime is also an opportunity for pupils to develop their independence, social skills and positive relationships with food.
Special Dietary Requirements and Allergies
If your child has a food allergy, intolerance or specific dietary requirement, please contact the school office so that we can discuss their needs and ensure the appropriate information is shared with the relevant staff.
Free School Meals
Some children may be eligible for benefits-related free school meals. If you think your child may be eligible or would like further information, please contact the school office, who will be happy to offer guidance.
We want every child at St Wilfrid’s to enjoy a happy, healthy and enjoyable lunchtime experience.
School Meal Prices and Payments
We offer school meals to our pupils at the following prices:

Nursery: £2.50 per meal.
-

Free School Meals
Even though all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive free school lunches, families who may be eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals are encouraged to apply.
Registering can help the school receive additional funding to support pupils' education and access to opportunities.
For further information or help with an application, please contact the school office.
Healthy Packed Lunches
At St Wilfrid’s Catholic Academy, we encourage all children to enjoy a healthy, balanced diet to help them stay energised, concentrate on their learning and make the most of the school day.
We ask parents and carers to provide a nutritious packed lunch containing a variety of foods, such as sandwiches or wraps with healthy fillings, fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, yoghurt and other nutritious snacks. Please provide your child with a drink of water in a named, reusable bottle.
We Are a Nut-Free School
To help protect children with severe allergies, St Wilfrid’s Catholic Academy is a nut-free school. Please ensure that all packed lunches and snacks are completely free from nuts and nut-containing products, including peanut butter and chocolate spreads containing nuts. Please check food packaging carefully before sending items into school.
We also encourage families to limit sweets, chocolate, crisps and sugary drinks, choosing healthier alternatives wherever possible.
Thank you for your support in helping us promote healthy eating and keep all our children safe.
