Mission Statement

At our school, we aim to place the needs, wellbeing and development of every individual child at the heart of all that we do. We value strong and positive relationships with parents and carers and believe that working together enables every child to flourish, both academically and personally.

We believe that every child is a unique and precious gift from God, created with their own gifts, talents and potential. Our role is to nurture these gifts, helping every child to grow in confidence, develop a love of learning and become the very best person they can be.

Our school community is guided by our motto:

“Love one another as I have loved you.”
John 13:34

These words from Jesus are at the heart of our school life. They remind us of the importance of showing love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness and respect towards one another. We strive to ensure that every member of our school community feels valued, welcomed and cared for.

Our mission is:

“With kind hearts and a thirst for knowledge, we strive to build a community of love and service, by learning from and loving others as Jesus did.”

Through our mission, we encourage our children to develop kind hearts and a genuine thirst for knowledge. We want them to be curious, enthusiastic and resilient learners who are willing to ask questions, discover new things and challenge themselves.

We also encourage our children to understand that learning is not only about acquiring knowledge, but about developing the values and skills needed to live a life of love and service. By following the example of Jesus, we hope our children will grow into caring, compassionate and responsible members of our community and the wider world.

The Ethos of the School

As a Catholic school, we promote the gospel values derived from the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. The aims of our Mission Statement form the underlying principles for all of our school policies. With this in mind we expect all adults and children in the school to adopt the example of Christ as a model for their actions whilst in school. The faith we uphold should underline every relationship, so that all are respected and value as children of God.

The school works closely with the churches of the Sacred Heart, Tunstall and St Joseph’s, Burslem particularly in the preparation for the Sacraments. We aim to support and work in close partnership with our parents and our parishes.
